What happens when you use the forecast
- When you open a forecast, our server asks MET Norway (the Norwegian Meteorological Institute) for the forecast at that place. We send only the coordinates, rounded to about 1 km. MET Norway does not receive your IP address.
- When you type in the search box, our server sends the search words to Open-Meteo's place search to show suggestions. Your IP address is not passed on.
- When you use "Use my location", our server sends the rounded position to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service to find the place name. Your IP address is not passed on.
- "Use my location" works only if you allow it in your browser. Your position is rounded to about 1 km and used once to look up the forecast and place name. We do not store it.
What is stored
- In your browser only: your units (°C/°F, m/s or km/h), your last place and up to six recent places. This stays on your device and is never sent to us. Clear it any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.
- On our hosting: the site runs on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address to deliver the page and protect it from abuse. [Describe your Cloudflare log and analytics settings here.]
- We do not use tracking cookies or advertising trackers. Fonts and weather symbols are served from this site.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask what personal data we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Contact [email]. You can also complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
